The Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy has been set up in the UK as a professional organisation for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) practitioners and for those who are interested in furthering the development of DBT as an evidence-based treatment.
The organisation has developed in response to a call from the growing number of DBT therapists in the UK and Ireland to create a membership organisation capable of protecting the interests of patients and representing the interests of therapists. We seek to ensure that DBT is provided in a safe, ethical, professional and accountable manner.
On the website you will find information about the Aims of the Society, Therapist Resources and the classes of membership. In addition, the Society, in affiliation with the Linehan Board of Certification, accredits therapists in DBT and you will find information about this process on the website.
There is also a section for patients and clients with links to other websites.
The Directors of the Society for DBT are:
Christine Dunkley, Chair of the Board,
Stephen Palmer, Vice Chair, SfDBT Fellow
Maggie Stanton, Treasurer
Emily Fox, Secretary
Pamela Henderson, Membership Secretary
Janet Feigenbaum, Chair of the Board of Accreditation
We would like to invite you to get involved in the development of the society. Please e-mail us:
